About Us
Italo Marti And Associates Drafting Services was established by Italo Marti in 1975. The company provided
Drafting services For Architects, Builders/Contractors and private Home Owners.
With The Advent of computers the firm switched from manual drafting to Cad Drafting in 1991.
Italo Marti attended Humber College of Applied Science and Technology in the early 70's enrolled in the
Architectural Technology program.
Italo Marti is a certified Architectural Technologist member of the Association Architectural Technologists of
Ontario. He has over thirty years Canadian experience in design,drafting and preparation of construction drawings
for Commercial, Industrial and residential buildings.
The Firm Italo Marti And Associates complies with the new regulations under Bill-124 since January 2006.
Both the Firm and the principal have a BCIN# to practise in Ontario under the designation that the firm is allowed
to practise in Part 9 of the Building Code.
The mission of Italo Marti And Associates is to deliver a service best needed for our clients. We believe that
every client's needs and dreams are different and our work is to help in the highest level to achieve these
goals by taking each project step by step from preliminary design/Zoning to completed working drawings for
Permits and Construction. We constantly seek continual growth in both technology and client needs.

Who Designs The Plans?
New Requirements for Designer Qualifications for House Projects
Became effective January 1st 2006
Under the Ontario Building Code
Recent changes to the Ontario Building Code will now require, as of January 1, 2006, that the designers who
prepare residential design and drawings must be pre-qualified in their knowledge of the Building Code by writing
and passing technical exams. The qualifications will depend in part on the scope of the design activity being
performed by the designer. Some projects may require several qualified designers to be involved, each one
qualified in their limited scope of expertise.
Qualified Designer
Persons who prepare plans and specifications and take responsibility for the design of the following construction
projects related to a house(1) must possess the required technical qualifications, Registered with the Ministry and
have errors and omissions insurance.
